A little background with a leg up from Wiki... Jones was raised in Stockport, Greater Manchester. He studied history at University College, Oxford, where he completed a master's in US history. His first book, Chavs: The Demonization of the Working Class was listed by the NY Times as one of the top 10 non-fiction books of 2011. Sunday Times and The Bookseller listed it as best-selling politics book of 2011.
