“First protected in 1864, Yosemite National Park is best known for its waterfalls, but within its nearly 1,200 square miles, you can find deep valleys, grand meadows, ancient giant Sequoias, a vast wilderness area, and much more”, reads the park’s website, describing some of the beauty in the area, which may now be threatened by amateur drone traffic, park officials say.
Now that new technologies allows for the production affordable consumer drone photography rigs, it’s no wonder park visitors have put them to use. However, now park officials are concerned for the environment and wildlife which inhabits the park, pointing out how drones can be “extremely” damaging to the natural “soundscape”. http://intellihub.com/yosemite-national-park-service-prohibits-small-uavs-piloted-amateurs/
