The dreamland comes as I close my eyes
Take me from the forbidden lands that I despise
Where all semblance of conflict dies
Where the spirits of the night improvise,

The ultimate escape from the daylight hours
Where I might just witness meteor showers
Where the darkness yields moonlit flowers
Where nocturnal spirits watch from shimmering towers,
I’ve managed to evade this adversarial atmosphere
Once I close my eyes it all becomes clear
The shadows bring uncertainty and fear
But for me it’s just superficial veneer,
Revolving in our own separate universe
As words become indifferent and terse
I know each façade by verse
As I escape the waking world and become immersed,
Excuse me if I don’t join in the war
If I refuse your decadent lust for more
I’ll simply watch you self-destruct from the shore
You terrorists and race baiters have become a bore,
If I have only one life to give
It would be so others could live
Human nature is the monster we must learn to handle
Just as life can be snuffed like a candle.

That's a great poem it's a good time for writing being national poetry month in America and Canada with a large population at one time to enjoy or ponder inspiring written words. I hope decent poetry does not run out before the month runs out like seen in the woke days for us where even 'poems' were weaponised to invoke fantasy of murder n' mayhem and racism in one foul breath that spewed forwards to win big prizes, An appalling and disgusting display it was that ruined a national poetry time probably for ever. One poison pen can drive genuine poetry to go elsewhere perhaps disappear and Tusiata Avia Cook poem example certainly did that. Take care out there writers and readers.
