Being prepared is not being scared, it's being smart. When someone is prepared there's no reason to be scared. If good times come or if bad times come - and they are already here for very many Americans - there is less to be concerned about. If there is a job loss, one is already prepared - mentally and physically and economically. The long storm ahead can be weathered.

I agree - "scared people don't think clearly". That's why being prepared does not make one scared, we already know what do do. Time will tell, sooner than later, who called it right!

Thank You this post. You are right, being prepared is not being scared. It's being smart. I personally see rough times for the US and a lot of other counties. Everyone has to make their own choices. I'm going to be prepared in good times and for sure in bad times. There is going to be a long storm ahead, in my opinion.

I'd say use tools like this site to develope an "emergency network" get to know like-minded folk and make extraction plans.

How prepared am I? I'm not! I used to be but then the economy crashed....Not the total collapse I was expecting and secretly hoping for but just enough to fuck me over where I still have to be dependent on the machine and sell off half my shit to pay the rent. Had it been a total teotwawki or shtf scenario, I would have been golden right now but nooooooooooo, they have to collapse the economy slowly and draw it out where I have to keep paying bills and shit like that. I was ready for mad max and they gave me the fucking grinch who stole christmas. I'm working on it though. I just can't wait for the day the dollar dies and the barter system reigns supreme. Then, I'm back on top again.
