Criminals have been manufacturing illegal handguns at a 'large-scale, sophisticated' weapons factory hidden on an industrial estate in a Sussex market town, it emerged today.
The gun factory was uncovered in a warehouse disguised as a gearbox repair business, yards from an Argos and a Screwfix store in Hailsham, East Sussex.
Officers from the National Crime Agency (NCA), often described as Britain's FBI, heard the sound of gunshots coming from the building before they arrested three men earlier this week.

Given that they are handguns, with little baggies of ammo, then they were most likely intended for drug related criminals in the UK's cities.
Anyone who wants to be prepared for what's coming would want an SMG or rifle - which would be do-able with a Bridgeport and the other equipment.
Given the plans available online, a CNC equipped workshop could produce quality longarms.
The weak link is ammo, or more specifically primers, which have been restricted in the UK for several years now.
That should serve as a warning to folks in the US - get reloading kit, a tumbler or ultrasonic cleaner to clean your spent brass...and primers, plenty of primers.
Unlike bullets, quality consistent primers can not be fabricated at home.
Meanwhile, AKs and other arms are building up in mosque stockpiles, but Mr Plod won't touch those.

One Danish resistance group in WW2, who manufactured their own version of the STEN 9mm submachine gun, built a testfire chamber that both silenced the report of the firing gun and also had a 'bullet trap'.

A 200 liter barrel with rock wool lining would do that. Fire from one side with the gun completely in and install a bullet trap in the other end.
