Just a few hours ago I started reading some of the information posted on the CoFR's website. While looking over
this article I followed a link talking about "america has taking islam hostage" which linked to
this article, an interview between a talk radio interview with Mullah Omar Mohammad, the leader of the Taliban on the 26th of September, 2001.
In the interview Mullah Omar states " America controls the governments of the Islamic countries. The people ask to follow Islam, but the governments do not listen because they are in the grip of the United States. If someone follows the path of Islam, the government arrests him, tortures him or kills him. This is the doing of America. If it stops supporting those governments and lets the people deal with them, then such things won't happen. America has created the evil that is attacking it. The evil will not disappear even if I die and Osama dies and others die. The US should step back and review its policy. It should stop trying to impose its empire on the rest of the world, especially on Islamic countries." As you can see, he clearly points out how America has created it's enemy it is now fighting, and that America controls the Islamic countries through the government, tortures those who try to practice Islam. He even talks about the American empire. I know most likely that Mullah Omar didn't ever say this and that it might be propaganda from America it's self, but it seems almost like "Hey everyone America is the bad guy" is the message I got from the message, while when this is mentioned, the interviewer quickly changes the topic by saying "So you won't give Osama bin Laden up?"
I just found this interesting as I was researching through the internets, mostly I wanted to know if anyone else has links to interviews like this, or to quotes the apparent enemies on the " War on Terror" have said talking about America being the bad guy.
