I was in a class tonight and overheard two people from the Lexington, NC police dept. It seems that they are getting so many applications for concealed carry (etc) that they have had to hire staff and are STILL working scheduled overtime to deal with the influx.

The PD had paid the way of one of the people to study for Notary Public because the paperwork has to be notarized and an oath administered and the current Notary could not keep up with demand.

I went through that process about a year ago, myself ... it only takes maybe 15 minutes per applicant so, even in this tiny county, the work load is steadily above 4 per hour.

That means the price of iron and lead will remain high ... but there will be plenty of shooters when the time comes.
