anti-war rally Saturday at the White House to for eighth anniversary of the Iraq War

Activists are planning an anti-war rally Saturday at the White House to coincide with the eighth anniversary of the Iraq War.

Rally organizers, led by military veterans, have rallied on the third weekend in March for the last several years, usually drawing thousands of protesters.

Organizers cited a recent national poll showing that nearly two-thirds of Americans do not believe the war in Afghanistan is worth fighting.

Protests are also planned in Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles and other cities.

On Sunday, the organizers say they will move the protest to Quantico Marine Corps Base in support of Army Private Bradley Manning. He is being held in the brig there amid suspicion he provided classified documents about the wars to the WikiLeaks website.
