Big Brother is Watching Digital TV - Please Remove Cam and Mic from Box!

Here is the real circuit board for the converter box in the first photo. Sorry there is no camera or microphone in there. This story is a hoax, we need to address this as soon as possible. Magnavox does not appreciate the consumer taking apart their DVD recorders, converter boxes, Doing so will VOID the warranty and we don't want that. Digital TV is a way to get a better signal and improve picture quality than just watching a snowy TV channel on your own TV set. I have talked to Radio Shack there is chance that they will come out with a "audio only" version of a digital TV receiver for people on the go. It will take time. The second photo is just a patent prototype design of a camera of a fake camera this is actually a mockup.

I wonder if any techno-geeks are here who can confirm what I've read about the new HDTV cable boxes. It's my understanding that cable boxes have two way audio and video capability, which basically enables anyone with the authority to monitor everything going on in your house that the boxes can pick up. What I've read, advised that the only way to disable the 2 way transmission is to cut off power to the box.....unplug it whenever you're not using it, to ensure privacy.

any thoughts here on that info?

Analog to digital for everything radio is getting hard and frustrating for the hobbyists. If you look at Radio Shack they used to sell radios for about $199 now since digital is trying to ruin the hobby in scanner listening they made new radios with the latest chip sets for ACPO 25 and are selling them at $499 to $600 and right now they don't have any to sell to the public. I think we are heading towards a great depression in electronics sales and major recession in grocery store shopping. It's getting hard to update the radio hobby when there are no sales going on. Radio Shack is letting the rich can own the latest digital technology in radio communications. FCC makes billions of dollars in our tax money always buying wideband receivers with decoding capabilities to listen to whatever they want and we know they are corrupt and disrespectful to the american people and sheep. We need this technology, but when its expensive its very difficult. I feel this transition will likely turn into a protest or riot at the FCC office and broadcast offices.

This transistion sucks, With the unemployment rate high, how can someone afford a $59 converter box? The good news is that I have cable TV, but the old Black and White set does not have a digital tuner in it. I might just go out and get an LCD TV for about $149 for emergencies but not right now. Eventually every TV they come out will require the ATSC tuner in them. I feel that those converter boxes might have defects in them and they only can receive a few signals not all of them.

The commercials have really bothered me. Why must we get them? And why do they have such a HARD-on about us having them? They don't give a shit if we live or die so why is this so friggin’ important. It has made me suspicious ever since they started the crap a few years ago. They try and make it sound so appealing “better reception”, “more channels” Ooohh... Zippidy… fuckin.. Doo.. Dah… who gives a shit, mindless dribble crap on TV, pick up a book or listen to some lp's that is entertainment; watch a good movie. I do not have a digital converter in my house, I have an old school satellite that steals feeds and that is fine with me.

I did find out that the FCC is going to sell the Analog TV bands to the government, military, and corporations. They are going to use the analog signals for their doings, that is fishy because digital is supposed to be better, isn't it?
