UPDATE 2-Entergy Michigan reactor shut after leak

Wed Jun 13, 2012 11:16am EDT

June 13 (Reuters) - Entergy Corp shut its
793-megawatt Palisades nuclear power plant in Michigan on
Tuesday due to leakage from a refueling water tank, the U.S.
Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) said in a report.
The company is in the midst of cooling down the reactor in
order to make repairs to the refueling water tank, company
spokesman Mark Savage told Reuters.
He said that the plant would return to service once repairs
were completed, although he did not provide a length of time for
the outage.
The tank was believed to be leaking from several locations,
the company told the NRC.
The event had no impact on the health and/or safety of the
public, the report said.

When I went to work helping construct the Trojan nuclear plant in Rainier, Oregon, I carried with me comprehensive study of the workings of fission power plants courtesy Profs. Macklin and Rose. The spent fuel problem was an unsolved one back in 1972 and it is now. My work at the Trojan plant(now decommissioned with cooling tower dropped like a bad habit) impressed me on one thing. The people building it did not feel responsible for spent fuel problems and they had a childlike faith in the rewriting of Scripture by Constantine. Their belief in 'God' as described by the false 'profits' may end up killing everything on earth. Bloody stupid like the people now ignoring the Wall Street looting, Bernanke giving away the farm and the ever increasing Fukushima radioactivity contamination. This is what Winston Churchill referred to as the number one argument against democracy.

apeman-and what are the SHEEPLE going to do about it, nothing! sad but, like what you said, true! but didnt they say they solved that spent fuel problem, dump it on anyone that have dumb local politicians. and in the USA, that is just about any city!

We could be dropping like flies and the freaking "NRC" will say everything is A-OK. We really put ourselves in a terrible situation with all things nuclear...
