If it is assumed that frankincense contains a similar amount of THC, then a 4-Drachma addition (approx. 21.8 g) to OVDO would yield some 109 µ g/g ∆ 9-THC in the 327-g mix (equivalent to 0.33 µ g/g of OVDO). However, the transdermal uptake rate of THCs is rather low, some 5% for healthy skin and an estimated 16% for damaged or compromised skin. Assuming that the athlete’s skin would have been damaged after a fight, we might expect some 0.05 µ g of the 0.33 µ g/g ∆ 9-THC in OVDO to be absorbed transdermally.
