LAS VEGAS, April 16 (UPI) -- Brothers Ammon and Ryan Bundy and three other defendants refused to enter pleas during an arraignment Friday in connection to a 2014 armed standoff with law enforcement at their father's ranch.

Pleas of "not guilty" were entered by U.S. Magistrate Judge George Foley Jr., on behalf of Ammon, 40, and Ryan, 43, as well as Ryan Payne, 32, Brian Cavalier, 44, and Blaine Cooper, 36.

The five men were also involved in the armed takeover of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Oregon earlier this year. They were transported from Oregon to Las Vegas by U.S. Marshals.

The brothers face several felony charges stemming from a 2014 conflict at the Bundy ranch in Bunkerville between their father Cliven, 69, and federal agents. The elder Bundy allegedly refused to pay fees for his cattle to graze on public lands. Cliven was arraigned in the conflict in March and also refused to enter a plea.

Federal prosecutors said the brothers helped coordinate armed protests in Bunkerville, but avoided prosecution for about two years until their connection to the armed takeover in Oregon earlier this year.

Ammon Bundy told the judge he was mistreated while in jail, not given food and handcuff for a 23-hour stretch since he arrived in Las Vegas.

"I don't see how we are being treated as innocent in any way," he said.

Ammon's attorney in the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge case, Mike Arnold, also traveled to Las Vegas and argued that the Las Vegas prosecutors should hold the case until the Oregon trials are complete.

"These guys have the right to a speedy trial and the right to a fair trial," Arnold said. "The timing of the federal government charging them in the Nevada case is very suspicious. They waited two years and they chose to do it at a particular time that is going to make defending them in Oregon very difficult. There are mountains of discovery to look at, and they can't be in two places at once."

The judge set detention hearings for the Bundy brothers for Wednesday, as well as a separate hearing to determine if Ryan would be allowed to defend himself.

It's been in Black people's face since the day they were unloaded off the slave ships.

It was cool then, because it only affected Blacks, in fact, it was cool all the way up until the government decided what was good for the goose, was good for the gander.

Now it's in white people's face & directly affects their everyday life.

There is a difference between something writ on paper and tanks rolling through the streets. If They just started the tanks rolling without an "excuse," the whole country would be against the corporation. With an "excuse," many will support it, creating more divide.

And what's this shit about "new-age thoughts???" Geez, dude. I am as far from new-age as can be. I suggest actual behavior choices, a revolution in ideas, because when 95% of Us no longer consent to the rule of the corporations, consent to better ways, what is the 5% going to do? They will have no power.

Sure, You can have a bloody revolution. Be My guest. But don't expect Me to fight unless in immediate Self defense. I am going to continue to open People's eyes to a better solution than behaving like wild animals in a cage.

You brought up 'bloody revolution', since when did I mention it, advocate both it and the initiation of coercive force or violence?

I will only respond in self-defense.

There will be no revolution, there is going to be a war, because THEY want one and their intent is to kill or enslave us.

THEY will use whatever means and proxies serve their purpose...

They are going to collapse the global economy - it won't matter a damn if you or anyone else then decides whether to buy corporate consumables or not.

Please, do what you want...it's not going to stop THEM from carrying out their plan.

A. How great it would be if people with skills, material and means, slave away for free to design and produce things for a bankrupt (financially, morally, spiritually) society comprised of arrogant and ignorant morons who are content with the status quo, so long as there is TV, cheap alcohol and cigarettes and that consumer materialism reigns (or the promise of free stuff - stolen from other people via taxation - a la Bathouse Barry & Bernie).

B. How the elite are hoarding alternative technologies, and if we keep petitioning them they will one day roll over and say, 'ok, we give up, here you go...we would have got away with it, if it wasn't for you meddling kids etc'.

THEY would rather die and destroy all the information and high technology in THEIR possession than even surrender one tiny element of it.

Now, if you actually had this tech or the means of reproducing it in your possession and disseminated it online, I would be breaking my neck to assist you in every way possible.

With the internet, the masses have access to the biggest repository of information and human knowledge with which to educate and improve themselves, and what do the majority do with it?

They watch moronic youtube videos, exchange vapid commentary on twitter, facebook and tumblr, buy into the latest crap that the PTB peddle and watch porn and videos of humans doing the most vile acts of violence towards one another.

The current generation think they are the peak of human civilization because they have smartphones - and can push buttons and swipe on a screen - it is laughable.

Until a time comes where people re-learn basic mental and physical skills that our parents, grandparents and great grandparents possessed - and bring them up to a level where they will truly value things - nothing will change.

All changes in societies are initiated by a minority of people.

You just don't get it. I ask for Those who CARE and want to build something BETTER than Now, who are WILLING to add energy to that end Now, so that in the end, no One HAS to account for Their energy to anyOne, no One HAS to slave at work They hate, and We can remove most of those hated jobs entirely because all they do is move the bulk of the wealth on this planet to very few. Like cashiers, accounting, sales, collections, advertising, marketing, tax collection, insurance, and banking.

I never once said We should petition anyOne. If We find and release the data freely of methods of drawing free energy, or if someOne in the know CHOOSES to release the info. But nowhere does anyOne petition the useless eliters.

And I don't care about the sheep beyond having great empathy for Them in Their controlled, indoctrinated, poisoned lives, and wanting to save Them. I care about the Ones who are willing to build better Now for a future that is abundant for ALL of Us. That minority. That group that wants to change to far better than We have Now.
