Buies Creek, N.C. — Campbell University was locked down Wednesday afternoon during a standoff between Harnett County deputies and a student in a residence on the Buies Creek campus, authorities said.
Deputies were trying to serve papers on Jared Dale Knight, 24, when he barricaded himself inside a private home on the Campbell campus, university spokesman Britt Davis said.
Knight was dishonorably discharged from the Air Force in August 2008 for taking about $10,600 in military property for his own use and impersonating a Texas wildlife officer, according to military court records.
Fuquay-Varina police arrested him Tuesday on a charge of larceny by employee, and he was released after posting a $3,000 bond. Hi only previous criminal record in civilian courts involved traffic offenses, court records show.
The Harnett County Sheriff's Office dispatched members of its SWAT team to Campbell during the incident.

Way to go kid you just ruined your life forever!!! No one will ever hire you after serving time and you lose all your friends and family. One thing you never do is steal from the military or impersonate someone you are not in authority.
