You may have seen it on various portable radios and communication receivers. Its the mystery band for USA SWL's, You may have heard of AM, FM and Shortwave bands. Not all shortwave radio receivers have it especially the ones under $99. But as an awareness we should encourage all manufactuers to include this extra band especially when travelling overseas or you live there. Or if our national AM broadcast band cannot take anymore broadcasters we need an alternative, thats why I am showing you this feature you probably never knew existed on your portable radio. If you bought a radio without the LW bands, then who ever made that radio was pretty darn lazy to design it properly and if you use that radio in some where in a foreign country and you are far away from AM and FM stations and you know there are 2 or more LW stations, then that radio could be useless. Especially if you are located out in the desert in Algeria.
Here are some videos that may interest you in LW DX.
