The notorious Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms agency has just received a permanent director-the first in six years- Byron Todd Jones, confirmed by the Senate 53-42. Byron Todd Jones has been acting ATF director since august 31, 2011, when he was appointed by chief gun-prohibitionist & attorney general, Eric Holder, and Barrack Obama, following the fast and furious scandal.

Now that the nomination has resulted in a confirmation, the question on everyone’s mind is what is Byron Todd Jones agenda? Is he Obama’s key to passing gun-control legislation, or a gun-control executive order? Should Jones being appointed to head the Attorney General’s Advisory Committee by Holder and former Attorney General Janet Reno, who authorized the Waco Siege, cause alarm? Or is Jones the opposite of a hawk, paying attention to only authorized and key cases, and not aggressive enough, as a recent attack by an FBI director claims?

Diving into the history of Byron Todd Jones, we see that his appointment occurred due to the exposure of the ATF fast and furious failure, whereby the 1.2 billion dollar ATF used tax dollars to purchase over 2000 rifles, and mistakenly distributed/lost them to drug cartels in mexico. These would be the same drug cartels profiting off a failed billion dollar drug war, because prohibition means monopoly for governments and gangs. This was a situation Jones claimed he was “excited” and “honored” to lead during.
