Student, 14, is apprehended after 'shooting boy in the arm' at California high school

• Highland High School in Palmdale, California, was swarmed by deputies 7am PT
• 14-year-old shot through the forearm and is in non-serious condition in hospital
• At just after 9am, Sheriff's Department tweeted to say school had been cleared
• Police said a 14-year-old student was arrested and rifle recovered from scene
• Around 10.30am officers said the shooting appeared to be an 'isolated event'
• Police responded to similar reports at elementary school but found it to be safe
