Murphy said the police received an emergency call that a teen standing in a group of six at the Heritage Houses had pulled a gun from his waistband and pointed it at another individual, around 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 30. “We dispatched several cars to the area. Police officers got out of their cars and one of the individuals bent down, adjusted something in his waistband and ran,” he said. As one officer ran after the suspect, the other officer detained the five other teens who didn’t run and were compliant, according to Murphy.

Meanwhile, “the other cop is in foot pursuit of the suspect that had the gun. The suspect runs into an apartment house and into an unknown apartment,” said Murphy. The police didn’t catch the suspect.
