No way was the force of this explosion promulgated over three states. Most of this was an above ground ignition. What you are looking at is the blasting cap that ignited methane, butane, and who knows what else accumulated into the atmosphere of the surrounding area. It is not beyond belief that a meteorite may have caused this, but I don't feel it. I think it's an intentional "Blast Off" of radiant materials out-gassing.
Marie, spot on. The Aquifer is completely inundated with methane and many other gases, most explosive. This bodes very ill for the people in that area... For pressure to be exerted on the scale that it would take for out-gassing, then it would take years. This means anyone drinking from this aquifer has been poisoned, and is still being poisoned. This explains the horrific cancer rates in the area. I looked it up and it is 6 times the national rate.
Also, another explosion is imminent. No way around it. I would be very interested to know how many other salt dome storage facilities are also in this area. For this concentration to exist...I'd bet my last dime that up to 12 others are all within range of the aquifer. This could easily be not only worse than the Macondo Well disaster, but also related. If so, we may be looking at extinction level event in the Gulf's near future.
Thank you for taking the time to set up the leads, and all your info. This is massive, and will take quite a while to research, but possible you have just helped to save some lives.
