Diana, I see what you are saying but it didn't use to be this way "Electoral College" this was added in later. it needs to be reversed

this is exactly why we must end the Electoral College and have the Popular voting system. this Electoral College system isn't a democracy it's laughable and unfair to the voters. a read democracy means Every Vote counts not a certain amount in a certain region. the American people are no being heard. 

especially when the popular candidate votes are higher and the "SLECTED" ones wins.

I wrote to the CEO of ELECTORAL COMMISSION inc. and gave him conditional acceptance note. It said I won't be voting for one company director over the other whilst not working for neither of them. I stated unless he could rebut my statements, he is to remove my corporate name from the ballot. So he did.. I guess you are in the same situation in America. In OZ voting is compulsory and failure to vote attracts hefty fines.

We are not a pure democracy, we are a republic therefore the popular vote is not used.  This is why we have the Electorial College.  The system empowers states, especially smaller ones, because it incentivizes presidential candidates to appeal to places that may be far away from population centers.  If the president were elected by unfiltered national vote, small and rural states would become irrelevant.  A more federalist system of electing presidents takes that into account.
