It's actually a good thought-experiment example of "conservation of angular momentum". If kids were thrown off, their bodies would rotate the same direction as the ride. Riddle me this - moons of planets in our solar systems, which are said to have been broken off planets, should rotate in the same direction as the planets. But some have moons that rotate in either direction. Huh.
