A more likely spying tool is the mobile phone, with microphone, camera and gps. My phone occasionally gives a error message "message sending failed" when I have not sent anything. The error message appears for a short time and then disappears.
The dog ate mine so I guess NSA can now track her.
maybe it's used not necessarily watching, but listening in.
Thank you!
Creepy looking thing though.
Americans will buy anything.
it's ballsack news...have had one of these open, weak rf module might make 10 feet (designed to mingle w/ other furbies close by) ,no cameras, has a mic, buncha servos for eye/mouth, minute amount of ram and weak ass speech recog. heres a list:
A 93046 non-volatile EEPROM with 1K of storage, additionally, there are two small daughter PC boards mounted on the main board at right angles, each carrying a custom COB (chip on board) microcontroller. Serial data is transferred between these two microcontrollers, which are run at 3.58 MHz.(not quite up to NSA standards)
nothing here that will gather much data or even report data to anything, that lil black blob below is covering the CPU of this thing if thats a clue ;)
If a furbee had a web cam then it would be up for grabs when it comes to the NSA. Any webcam people use for home security is fair game just as any cell phone or computer with a built in cam or a desktop cam Incliding "smart TVs" and video gaming systems.
Hacking these things is relatively simple.

Report is a ‘disinfo’ scam, to try to discredit folks who are livid at the report. But the actuality is bad enough (bad enough to bring the scumbag false posters out from under their slimy rocks, and out of the woodwork, to try to derail the revelation).
