Certainly, if the shot is strategically placed, they will never commit crime again.  I don't care what the gun control people say, the fact is if you are the only person with a gun, you feel secure that you can get by with crime.  If everyone is armed...a crime is less appealing.

True they've got to suffer personal loss first. Unpredictable crime happens at any moment. If crim's come with weapons you'll be a victim unless the weapons are removed from their hand first anyway possible. Everyone should be alert if gangs are about but If they know folk are ready for them its less likely they'll create problems later on as they are finding out to find to their detriment.
