His 1990 visit to post-Velvet Revolution Czechoslovakia on the request of Václav Havel and being designated "Special Ambassador to the West on Trade, Culture and Tourism" was unprecedented.

The fact that the Czechs received a 'him or us' communique from James Baker, H.W Bush's Secretary of State, shows how much of a threat Zappa posed at the time.

I first visited Praha (Prague) in 1994, and whenever the subject of music was brought up, so was Frank.

It saddens me that we may never see his like again.

Watch out where the Husky's go...

Frank was contemplating a political career and was getting together what was needed to begin a run for Congressman or Senate..(I forget) towards the end there too, I've ALWAYS contemplated the possible scenario of these criminal pricks taking him out before he even got started, the man was a friggin Genius, and way more intelligent than all these fargin usurping criminal bastiches in DC COMBINED!!!...He would have destroyed alot of criminal careers on the Hill ;)

Thanks Less Prone. By the way, my conspiracy thought process suspects foul play, government directed in the brain issue the took Zappa. He was very aware and people liked him.

There is a project to save most of the material in Frank Zappa's archives as well as to make a film about him. It's called "Who the F*@% is Frank Zappa" (Save the Vault, Tell the Story)

Frank was ahead of time and seemed to understand what is the name of the game. A remarkable individual who died too early.
