Angry students nabbed the attention of top University at Albany officials today during a large student walkout that was a part of widespread college campus protests across the state.

At 1 p.m. hundreds of UAlbany students walked out of class, banging on drums and chanting for the end of tuition hikes and program cuts.

The walkout was in part to show support for the Occupy Wall Street protests that have been going on in New York City of the last couple of weeks.

After students marched outside of University Hall, the school’s main administrative building, officials finally agreed to let protestors (but not media) in to voice their opinions in a more civilized manor. http://blog.timesunion.com/asp/2158/student-protest-leads-to-audience-with-president/
