yeah that would be right. In the old days Strict vital measurement of medicine doses was haphazard at best and little thought went into it. Just give child some drops of laudanum depending on age. Just like that. Of cause in reality a single drop can be anywhere between 0.5mm to 8mm - depending on pressure applied to the rubber stopper on the dropper. The chance of overdoing it was not often considered or even mentioned.
