From what is understood is appears that France is once again antagonising "their" small island nation with mass immigration and new voting rights for the 'others' that have infiltrated the island to the detriment of the local indigenous Polynesians. There is also the possibly of resource grabs at stake besides being a nice holiday destination. Like Australia they have a plentiful supply of nickel but things are not looking to flash for the French meantime as the islanders gain new friendships from abroad. ( interesting what nickels used for.)
