oops something went wrong when I went to add link before. Here's some info on camphor https://www.eattheweeds.com/camphor-tree-cinnamons-smelly-cousin/
- but in saying that it's also a good idea to know what your doing and where possible try any concoction you've cooked up on yourself first. I'd say it's also an idea to not let too many others know about making your own meds. You don't want the authorities turning up. Some good oils are restricted by the fda and others are banned by narcotic agents. If neighbours do see you out there climbing big trees out of the norm just say you're making herbal tea - a bit like tea tree brew but with a new tree for good health. They probably won't think too much of it after that point but never offer them anything till you absolutely know it's ok. Today I learnt there were Two types of plant oils Terpenes like in tobacco, cannabis, pine, tea tree etc and the other type of plant oils are something called Phenylpropanoids and they might behave differently. Tea tree vapour is fine to breathe in and helpful to clear up stuffiness but doing the same with camphor is unpredictable and could also cause light headness , sudden vigour or a loss of time perception. A you tuber suggested Ingesting a Very Light Brew of camphor fresh leaf and twigs only because anything that is breathed in goes straight to the brain and in all cases it is safer to consume something in very low doses at first. Having to climb big trees is dangerous but being temped to take old bark from tree trunks, stumps or low branches is just the thing Not to do. The chemicals in it change and make something quite different when all the fibres break down. I'm guessing this is where some people are going wrong.
