Chris and Diana - George Clooney's father, Nick, was a TV news anchor in Cincinnati. I recall as a kid watching a story about a traveling Holocaust exhibit that had come to town (1979 or 1980). They had part of this concrete wall, and, before it had dried, people had scooped out hunks of it, leaving finger-shaped depressions. Like writing one's name in a drying sidewalk. Clooney explained that the wall was from a Nazi gas chamber, and that the Jews had been so terrified, they clawed into the concrete with their bare hands (Oh noes! The horror, the horror!). My parents were transfixed by this nonsense, and I thought "This is so dumb." Clooney is a 33rd degree mason, by the way. They should've just went for the wooden door with the large glass panel.

As Joe Biden says, "we choose truth over facts."  lol

A quote from Elie Wiesel writings: "Things are not that simple, Rebbe. Some events take place but are not true: others are, although they never occurred"

That was only for the ones that weren't thrown directly into the inferno of flaming ditches or boiling water.  In an autobiographical book by Elie Wiesel that supposedly describes his experiences at Auschwitz and Buchenwald, he nowhere mentions the gas chambers. He does indeed say that the Germans executed Jews, but... by fire; by throwing them alive into flaming ditches, before the very eyes of the deportees!  (Elie Wiesel won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1986 and Obama won one in 2009, so take that info for what it's worth.)
