King Solomon is said to have controlled 72 demons listed in the following article: The 72 Spirits of Solomon
I tend to believe that king Solomon, rather than a real king, is a metaphor describing the beginning of the freemasonry. You could call it, Solomon ie. Freemasonry, the cult of Sun.
More about the demons under Solomon's control:

Chronicles of Jerahmeel, by M. Gaster [1899]
THE THRONE OF SOLOMON, KING OF ISRAEL."On either side of the throne a golden seat of honour was placed, one for Gad the seer, and the other for Nathan the prophet. (4) And seventy other seats of gold for the seventy judges of the Sanhedrim formed a circle round the central throne. ... On the steps approaching the throne were placed as many unclean animals as clean, all facing each other, on the first step the ox was placed opposite the lion; on the second, the goat opposite the wolf; on the third (third missing); on the fourth, the bear opposite the hart; on the fifth, the eagle opposite the dove; and on the sixth, the hawk opposite the turtledove. The ascent to the throne was made between these animals."

From chabad.org
"Six steps led to the seat, and each step served to remind the king of one of the six special commandments that the kings of Israel were commanded to observe.
...
On each side of the throne there was a special golden chair, one for the High Priest, and one for the Segan (assistant High Priest), surrounded by seventy golden chairs for the seventy elders of the Sanhedrin (Supreme Court Judges)."
One King, two Priests, Seventy Judges, and six steps to the top, all form a twelve step pyramid. A day is divided into twelve hours (Horus) and ends when the sun sets (Seth), the thirteenth hour giving a kiss of death to the sun just as the thirteenth disciple (Judas) did to the Son (Jesus).
