Lol
a very apt image. it seems like the most basic trick a stage magician could perform.
I perfer the chineese linking rings trick, myself. its all about trading the linked rings back and forth in an artful way so that at the end it looks like rings are surely bound together, but if the magician blows on the rings, the whole thing falls to peices . keep the ring with the gap in your palm or with at least one finger between the gap and the audience so that it cant be seen. the artist would do well not to draw attention to this gimmicked ring, and never let the audience know that its there. good rings are forged of steel, and have a shinny, bright surface, and an ear pleasing chime when the rings strike together. perform this trick so that the flashing light of the rings falls into the audiences eye.
the top hat trick is easier. the rabbit is in a bag that fits inside the tall hat. hats can be gimmiked with false bottoms, flash paper hideouts, ect. a very skilled operator pulls a puppet out of the hat that looks like a rabbit, but is a bag that has a live trainned bird in it, that flys a circle over the oudience, then lands on a perch, a set up for the great disappering bird trick.
a good set up for the rabbit trick is to let loose a couple of real, trainned rabbits on the stage, then rounding them up into a gimmiked cage that looks like a normal pet carrier (a familliar object). loosing one or both of the rabbits, the magician sets out to find the lost bunny, then finaly finding it under his empty hat, applause then turn the topic to the show stopper, the chineese link rings trick.
go see a video of this linking rings trick.its cool
