- I am a born-again, Spirit-filled Christian and have become an avid student of history over the last several years. I have also adopted what I believe to be a proper application of Old Testament teachings (Torah not Talmud). I'm kind of a Messianic Jew in reverse or maybe a Children of Israel Quaker without a "Jewish" background :-)
Anyway, I am quite concerned about how we have been lied to about historical events. My biblical studies combined with historical learning have led me to be quite concerned about the accuracy of what is now considered common knowledge in our culture regarding Jews and Israel (e.g., I think the term "Jewish" has no real meaning by itself).
I've come to believe that the true story of what became of the Northern Kingdom tribes genealogy-wise has been suppressed and that the concept most people have of the Jews and Israel is a fallacy.
When I try to discuss ideas that are important to me, like perhaps the Nethanim high-jacked Judaism at the return to Jerusalem from Babylon, or that perhaps the quaint "Fiddler on the Roof" perception of Jews speaking Yiddish might have resulted from Khazar influences, I have no one to talk to.
So, a recent comment posted by Edward Huguenin regarding DNA research and the Khazar connection was very exciting to me. I have no idea what 12160 is, but I hope I have been led to you as a way to learn more about these matters.
