Obama's Science Czar Considered Forced Abortions, Sterilization, and Planetary Regime as Population Growth Solutions

FOX NEWS!

President Obama's "science czar," John Holdren, once floated the idea of forced abortions, "compulsory sterilization," and the creation of a "Planetary Regime" that would oversee human population levels and control all natural resources as a means of protecting the planet -- controversial ideas his critics say should have… Continue

India to issue all 1.2 billion citizens with biometric ID cards

It is surely the biggest Big Brother project yet conceived. India is to issue each of its 1.2 billion citizens, millions of whom live in remote villages and possess no documentary proof of existence, with cyber-age biometric identity cards.

The Government in Delhi recently created the Unique Identification Authority, a new state department charged with the task of assigning every living Indian an exclusive number. It will also be responsible for gathering and electronically storing… Continue

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — The number of cadets with confirmed cases of the swine flu at the Air Force Academy has increased to 67.

The Gazette newspaper in Colorado Springs reported Monday that 121 freshmen with flu-like symptoms have been separated from the rest of the cadets. They were placed in a dormitory on the base near Colorado Springs late last week when they started showing symptoms.

The "doolies," members of the incoming freshman class, are among about 1,300… Continue

Cops to step up use of phone and net records

Detectives will be required to consider accessing telephone and internet records during every investigation under new plans to increase police use of communications data.

The policy is likely to significantly increase the number of requests for data received by ISPs and telephone operators.

Just as every investigation currently has to include a strategy to make use of its subjects' financial records, soon CID officers will be trained to always draw up a plan to probe their… Continue

Plant disease hits eastern US veggies early, hard

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — Tomato plants have been removed from stores in half a dozen states as a destructive and infectious plant disease makes its earliest and most widespread appearance ever in the eastern United States.

Late blight — the same disease that caused the Irish Potato Famine in the 1840s — occurs sporadically in the Northeast, but this year's outbreak is more severe for two reasons: infected plants have been widely distributed by big-box retail stores and rainy weather has… Continue

New World Order for Sovereign Debt

The financial crisis is forcing investors to look at the world through new eyes. A case in point: emerging-market government bonds. When emerging-market bond spreads tightened to record lows in 2006 and early 2007, it was seen as evidence that risk appetite had run too far. Having blown out following Lehman Brothers' collapse, spreads are narrowing again -- only this time, the balance of risks is no longer so stark.

The history of emerging-market sovereign debt has been littered with… Continue

Oregon legalizes hemp cultivation

Oregon’s House of Representatives voted Monday night to legalize the cultivation of hemp, becoming the sixth state to do so just this year.

Oregon’s Senate voted 27 to 2 in favor of the new law last week. Monday’s 46 to 11 House vote means that the measure will become law, barring an unlikely veto by Governor Ted Kulongoski.

The move is part of a rapidly growing nationwide trend to liberalize laws relating to marijuana. Hemp is a botanical cousin of marijuana,… Continue

U.S. to beef up U.N. Army

UNITED NATIONS -- The United States is prepared to provide more military observers, police, and civilian staff to beef up the U.N.'s far-flung peacekeeping operations, the U.S. ambassador said Monday.

The United Nations has nearly 115,000 troops, police and civilians deployed in 16 peacekeeping missions from Africa and the Mideast to Cyprus, Kosovo, Western Sahara and Haiti, but it has had trouble finding soldiers, helicopters and other key assets for several important… Continue
