Comic-book superpowers could become reality as scientists have designed a phone that works as 'X-Ray spex'.
A hi-tech chip allows a phone to 'see through' walls, wood and plastics - and (although the researchers are coy about this) through fabrics such as clothing.
Doctors could also use the imagers to look inside the body for cancer tumours without damaging X-Rays or large, expensive MRI scanners
The researchers claim it could allow DIYers to detect studs within walls, or allow businesses to detect counterfeit money.
At present, it's designed to work over a short range - and works with a normal-sized microchip that could fit into phones or other handheld electronics.

Hmm, I'm sure these scanners won't be used for nefarious purposes, no.... say it isn't so. We ladies already have to deal with that sick ole feeling of some creepy guy looking at us as if he's looking through our clothes. With a scanner like this, they won't have to use their imagination, they'll literally be looking at you through your clothes. That leaves me with such a comforting feeling.

Being serious, I've heard that "Space Blankets" stop the infrared devices from being able to see through the walls of your home. They have to be configured with the shiny side facing outward. Even though it might work, I'm guessing if one of those vans drove past your home and there was a room that was blocked from view, they would make-up an excuse to knock-down your damn door and find a reason to beat the crap out of you or Tase you until you voted for Obama. Just saying...

The DHS already has vans and trucks equipped with the technology to see right into our homes and listen to every word we say. Some of the newest drones also have the same technology they can use at 10,000 feet. We are NEVER safe and secure in our own homes anymore thanks to a fascist/authoritarian government. I can see where this would be great for physicians and Peeping Tom's, but other than that, Big Brother already has us directly in their sights.
