---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Eternal life for free? I do not believe that was the focus of my initial interest or query. Nor do I have the desire to become the backstop to anyone's pontification. I respectfully request to avoid any dogmatic entanglements for the sake of debate. However you are free to say whatever you like, and please, by all means speak candidly.

Here is what I find to be true 99% of the time. Religious followers have a tendency to lock themselves into this figurative room of their cultures religion and presume to know the truth of our existence. From their little room with walls and no skyline they presume to preach "the truth" about the heavens; the truth of our existence and of the world, visions of the future -- all from their little room. Meanwhile, next to them in their little room, is another isolationist locked in their figurative room of their cultures religion, shouting from the doorway their proverbial truth. They all shout so loud from their doors that a funny thing happens. Because they never leave their figurative comfort zone, they never truly see one another. And with all the shouting they never take the time to listen.

They presume to know based on their bias. They blindly grasp at what they want to believe and they miss out on the very thing they so desire to see.

Now anyone here can claim to have studied all of the worlds religions and the history of these religions. They can say they have taken a liberal arts approach. They can stand behind scientific method acknowledging all the while that condemnation without investigation is the height of ignorance. They can claim to have covered all bases. Whether that is true or not is reflected in your sentiments often unbeknownst to most others including yourself.

If it is truth you seek, then do not presume to know how to move the earth from an island. However, if it is comfort you seek then stay on that island.

LOL, Thomas.  Yes, I'm familiar with these.  When non-Christians or Atheists complain about Christmas trees at the airport, I take the time to explain to them that these are not religious symbols at all.

There you go, Thomas.  But the people who are fooled by it nevertheless often make these claims but as I said, I haven't seen it here.  Maybe other states are different.

And I never understood why they had 'in God we trust' yet all those other symbols, it just never made sense.  Ah, well, the dollar will soon be a thing of the past anyway.

Christmas and Easter in fact is based on the occult.  Jesus was born in September.   December 25 is the birth of Tammuz and Easter is Ishtar.   We have been fooled all along.

@Nikki, the "in God we trust" is not the God in the Bible.  The God it mentions is Lucifer.   The Dollar is filled with occult and Masonic symbols.  The seal translated from Latin to English says, "The Enterprise is acceptable" and at the bottom, "The New World Order".....

I have a child in public school and I have seen no attempt to prevent students from celebrating Christmas.  All through elementary school, the schools' choirs had events and all classes participated and they sang Christmas carols.  As for the ten commandments, only two are laws so why should they be in gov buildings?  And so much for having "In God We Trust on the dollar because nobody trusts the dollar.

Friendly=good. Hostile=bad. An example of hostile would be the board of education not allowing students to celebrate christmas. The government creates an oppressive separation in this instance thereby restricting a religious practice. Another example, the ten commandments being removed from gov. buildings. At one point there was talk of removing "In God We Trust" from the USD.

@Krypke, I fully agree with separation but I don't know why it's considered hostile. Maybe I'm not understanding the definition of hostile separation.  But every religion complains that they are the ones being persecuted.

The public education system and American Media was taken over by a group of people who want us to abandon our traditional world view and accept secular humanism or Marxism/Leninism is documented.    The humanist were able to claim victory in the conquest of American public school.     In 1930, Charles Francis Potter was proclaiming: "Education is thus a most powerful ally of Humanism, and every American public school is a school of Humanism."

In 1987, Herbert London or New York University declared,  "The strides made by Marxism at American universities in the last two decades are breathtaking.   "Every Discipline has been affected by its Marxist Socialism; preachment, and almost every faculty now counts among its members a resident Marxist scholar."   Then in 1989, Georgie Anne Geyer announced that, "The Percentage of Marxist faculty numbers can range from an estimated 90% in some midwestern universities."

Dr. Pierce of Harvard University stated when he addressed 2,000 teachers in Denver, Colorado in 1973.

"Every child in America who enters school at the age of five is mentally ill, because he comes into school with the allegiance toward our elected officials, toward our founding fathers, toward our institutions, toward the preservation of this form of government......patriotism, nationality, sovereignty, all of that proves the children are sick, because the truly well individual is one who has rejected all of those things and is what I would call the true international child of the future. "   END QUOTE

@Nikki, do you think there is any identifiable separation? Do you disagree with the concept or are you saying it is not hostile separation? The dominant religion in a America is a result of the lack of separation. The attack against the dominant religion is where the division happens. An ages old trick used to create co-opted sub divisions of opposition: atheists, muslims, new agers, pagans, buddhists etc.

"The question is why should the government be involved in school at all." Precisely my point, Nikki. Separation.
