A Foggy kind of Deeption
Such sweet sorrow is a bitter illusion,
Hard not to spend my days in confusion
Drifting through a world immersed in delusions
When I tell the truth forgive me for the intrusion,
The bridge of waters in time is consumed
But your life as it was will not be resumed
The pain from the past will always be exhumed
Swollen memories of her body so finely perfumed,
The love I need I don’t want to lose
They’re so easily misled by the foolishness they choose
Funny how the one who leaves is the one who will accuse
She was always the greedy one with a short fuse,
Trying to escape by following a river of sound
But I fear I’ll never be homeward bound
Nor will I be the monarch to be crowned
Existing somewhere between the lost and the found,
She needed my love she said from within a cloud
A foggy kind of deception that should have been a shroud
“I thought you said you loved me!” I cried aloud
The fool it seems I am with which I’ve been endowed,
A wall of emotions driving us all into a madness
Haunted by phantoms from the valley of sadness
I’m only mortal I will never solve this vastness
It seems even love is just a form of abstractness,
Therapy for the aching heart medicine for the soul
Another merge into the fast lane of love and rock n roll
Don’t be surprised at the frivolity of opinion polls
Yes we all have that Waterloo, our own grassy knoll.
