King Crimson, perhaps one of the most progressive and controversial rock bands of all time experimenting with fusion, integration of innovative musicianship, and the inspiration of several other bands created from the founding members splitting off to join new musical partnerships. Such bands as Emerson lake and Palmer, Yes, Circus, Giles Giles and Fripp, Yes, McDonald and Giles, Brian Eno, and even David Bowie all benefited from collaborations with King Crimson or its members. Robert Fripp, lead guitarist and founding member also known as "Mr. Spock of Rock" was leader of at least 2 known Washington DC think tanks. Analyze King Crimson and you will experience sometimes incredible melodic harmonies but also electronic abstractionism that will push the limits of our understanding of music and the information it transmits!
