African children are dying from a mysterious disease. It is called nodding disease because the children can't seem to stay awake at times.  Gary Strieker of Global health Frontline News reports.  Every family in villages has at least one child with the disease.  The children are all growth stunted.  They lose ability to stay on their feet.  Lose mental ability, and now the most tragic thing of all, some families are abandoning them.  So far three possibly three villages are affected.  All of the children are between the ages of 5 and 15.  It does not affect adults.  What they know so far about the disease is it is a brain disease.  And it's spreading. So far it’s only been found in small pockets of northern Uganda, Sudan and Tanzania, but the number of cases is growing. That’s raising fears that it could spread to more areas, sparking a greater sense of urgency in the health community.
