Again, Who can you trust ? Dr. Drew Allegedly Paid $275,000 To Illegally Promote GlaxoSmithKline Drugs
GlaxoSmithKline agreed to pay $3 billion this weekin part to settle claims it paid doctors to illegally promote its drugs. Turns out, the company was allegedly paying one doctor you may have heard of.

Dr. Drew Pinsky is included in the Department of Justice’s complaint against GlaxoSmithKline, alleging the the company paid the former host of Loveline as much as $275,000 to promote the anti-depressant Wellbutrin SR, according to Forbes (h/t The Consumerist). The complaint alleges that Dr. Drew highlighted the drug's libido-enhancing side effects in March and April of 2009, though it doesn't reveal that he was a paid spokesman.
In one particular appearance on the David Essel – Alive! radio program,
Dr. Drew linked one woman’s experience of having 60 orgasmsin one night to an ingredient in the drug, according to Gawker. This illegal practice of promoting drugs for purposes other than those approved by the Food and Drug Administration is known as off-label marketing.
Indeed, off-label marketing is one of the ways GlaxoSmithKline allegedly promoted its drugs illegally, accounting for about $727 million worth of the settlement. And Dr. Drew wouldn’t be the only one who’s done some shilling for GSK’s products. Notwithstanding the doctors mentioned in the DOJ’s complaint that received “
every imaginable form of high priced entertainment,” celebrities such as actor Kelsey Grammer and actress Marcia Cross have been linked to promoting GSK’s products in the past, according to ABC News.
But GlaxoSmithKline isn't the only drug company to get in trouble for paying doctors to illegally promote products. In 2009,
Pfizer paid a $2.3 million fine for providing doctors with various perks such as kickbacks and massages for promoting off-label uses of several of its drugs, Businessweek reports. That same year Eli Lilly paid $1.4 billion to settle similar allegations, according to the Wall Street Journal.

I know that Nikki it just blows my mind how many people that are still out there who has their heads buried deep in the sand still. I told many a people once you have waken up you'll never go back to sleep it's impossible to do so. I guess that BLUE pill is a killer LOL I'm still finding out how deep this Rabbit hole is.

Jim, I wouldn't trust anyone on major network TV/cable. Drs. Drew, Oz, Phil, etc are all shills. I would never take stock picks from Jim Kramer or advice from any of the talking whores ...oops I mean heads. The millions who watch these shows wouldn't believe you if you told them the truth about these shills anyway.
