An Easter Poem
He was known as a carpenter but he was so much more than that
Took his place on next to his father’s throne where he sat
Ministered to man from wherever he was at
God’s son who when crucified it was upon him that they spat,
Healing the sick, the crippled, and the blind
Leading them through forgiveness he allowed them to find
Teaching mercy to a troubled mankind
Liberating us from the chains that bind,
A ministry lasting only three and a half years
Despite all his disciples fears
Love and forgiveness he made quite clear
He came as our savior so that we could dry our tears,
Reciting biblical prophecy without writing a word
Clarifying the truth when the lines were blurred
Words of hope he offered never before heard
Praying to God whenever he needed to confer,
On this very day he arose from the dead
Never contradicting anything he ever said
With his love removing all doubt and dread
A new life for all the believers that he led,
Inspiring the world to seek peace
So that all evil and violence would cease
Listen to his words and you’ll be released
Defeating death when they thought he was deceased,
But human nature is too hard to overcome
It always ends up a negative sum
Satan is always beating the evil drum
Thankfully for us our messiah has come!
