Such movies still get made on the rare occasion. In this regard I would recommend the recent film 'After Life' (2009) starring Christina Ricci, Liam Nisam, and Justin Long. A seriously creepy movie without gratuitous splatter.

Wow, a trip down memory lane......wOOt! Remember the Creature Features and Chiller Movie nights when we were kids? I'm sure you do Mark or anybody that is in their thirties and older. Those were the good ole days when the subtlety of the fright was scarier than all the bloody gore that we see in most horror flicks today. And....there was always a good plot to every story and a moral to be gained in the end....
