Another Resurrection

I'm rambling on

Like a jester behind a curtain drawn

Like a spinster who's a chessboard pawn

Like a piper at the gates of dawn,

The answer is simple but it's out of reach

There are too many fundamentals to teach

Watch the street corner pastor preach

Too many casualties adrift along Normandy beach,

Forgive me if I grieve a little too much

But our federal government has lost touch

Too many people willfully ignorant as such

Victimization has become the ultimate crutch

Feeling like the world is closing in

All the false idols and their badges of tin

It’s 2 in the morning Baby where you been?

Just one more mad man who grins,

Another experimental test pilot flames out

Another CEO thinks he needs more clout

Another corrupt evangelist you thought was so devout

Most of us nowadays have our doubts,

Love is nothing more than a cherished memory

Was it even real when I thought I was free?

Or did I simply misinterpret destiny?

The race of the hatchling turtles to the sea,

How many times can a fool be rejected

How many times can a charlatan be elected?

Do you believe your society has been infected?

Perhaps we need a savior resurrected.
