Arsonist Killer Gets Death for 5 Firefighter Murders

Arsonist Killer Gets Death for 5 Firefighter Murders

Sometimes the system works!! I worked with Mark Loutzenhiser on several fire assignments over the years he was a great guy with a family as were his crew mates I am sure.

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – A convicted arsonist was sentenced to death Friday for setting a Southern California wildfire that killed five federal firefighters struggling to defend a rural home from raging, wind-driven flames.

Personally I would nail his nuts to a stump push him over backwards and then put him on an inmate fire crew for the rest of his life. He will never be executed in California anyway so he may as well repay some of his debt to society. I forgot to mention that one of the guys I grew up with lost his home in the same fire along with 33 other people. Guess I am too involved privately in the whole mess to be objective.

I was always pro death penalty until about ten years ago. I'm still not against it per se but after really reading up on lethal injection which it seems most states use now it seems too cruel if not unusual. Same with the electric chair and gas chamber.

Seems there's got to be a million more humane ways to execute people including the good old guillotine, a bullet in the brain, or if you really MUST be modern and technological about it maybe a baseball cap made of C4. As it stands right now though the death penalty is far to often amounts to death by torture.

Glad they nailed the guy though.
