As if Time Lapsed

In a constellation of toxic entities everywhere
Suspended in a world that just doesn't care
How does waking reality become a nightmare?
Like trying to find truth that just isn't there,

You and I in this infected atmosphere
All that's broadcast from the TV and radio is fear
In the end no one trusts or wants to be near
You were always so good about being unclear,

Unable to rest in the thick of the night
The futility of trying to hold the world upright
The fools who steal truth from the daylight
They rule but their crimes are hidden from sight,

I ran into a strange prediction in May

It warned, “Don’t go out today.”

Loaded with traffic the bridge collapsed

Saw it in slow motion as if time lapsed,

It was no coincidence not even perhaps

There’s a loss of time now and memory gaps

Could it have been one of those UFO flaps?

So confused had to pick myself up by the bootstraps,

Everyone I tell thinks it’s funny

As if it’s a fairytale or the Easter egg Bunny

I’m living in a world driven by blood money

I was in Roswell finding an anthropomorphic dummy,

Despite the DNA evidence of another being

Most in our society prefer to live unseeing

It seems all in the Western world are fleeing

Obey and sleep the government is decreeing,

I met you in a confused ambitious state

With resurrection and potential joy on my plate

But, as time wore you were prone to berate

You just needed a man you could deflate,

Like shooting stars falling on the ground

It seems the world is coming unwound

When will our savior be found?

There’s got to be more than this burial mound,

Yet, the unknown continues to confound

Making a painful existence even more profound

Too many decisions I once made were unsound

Like the moth eaten remains of a wedding gown.
