What was love I think I have a memory

It felt so good, unforced, and free

What is this malaise now stalking me?

All those promises that will never be,

What is this world that I once understood?

Sometimes I’d like to leave it if I only could

If only you had done what you should

Holding hands and hugs when times were good,

Here comes that cold eternal rain

I’m lost on this seeming alien terrain

Oh please Lord please explain

Seems I’m In this tomb where I remain,

What happened to the intended plan?

Here I am on this lunar land

Where lies and insanity go hand in hand

A hovering mirage over desert sand,

Trying to defend this territory outmanned

Can’t seem to hear the music from the band

Just trying to make you understand

Fixed bayonets where it’ll be my final stand,

On a dead stick landing I’m coming in

My aircraft is nothing but shot up tin

The thrill of air combat is such a sin

The smell of aviation fuel on my skin,

Indicator says the landing gear is down

Am I destined to be earthbound?

Air rushes into my cockpit making that sound

In my goggles blinded I’m crashing to the ground.
