Atomic Time

                                                      There’s no other place to go

As the world rushes by don’t you know?

Blow by blow ever since eons ago

Mankind wrestles with the savage from down below,

Self-destruction his only redeeming quality

Continuing conflicts into perpetuity?

Forgive me for enquiring out of curiosity

I read somewhere knowing thyself is key,

A bridge to the fog of confusion

They’re drenched in their delusions

If you speak the truth you might get a contusion

They’d destroy the country based on an illusion,

Me? I’m stepping back in time in this machine of mine

I’ve had enough now that I feel so inclined

The reverberation of space and atomic time

Visions across decades enshrined,

Day and night blinking in and out

Moving through reality without a doubt

Too late for me now to scream and shout

Grabbing a plant eating dinosaur by the snout,

Bending the fabric of space and time

Streaming around the edge of the galaxy isn’t a crime

Piercing the depths of celestial slime

I’ve cheated the grim reaper in this paradigm,

But, how do I get back I wonder now?

Crazy I forgot the problem somehow

To think I thought my intellect was well endowed

I’ve gone where no soul was allowed.
