Indian born British author Salman Rushdie wrote several novels of fiction and magical realism. Among one of them was “The Verses of Satan” in which he makes the Muslim religion an evil protagonist in the story. In doing do Salman infuriated the Islamic world so much that he was forced to go into hiding. Making a personal appearance to discuss his books in New York State a 24 year old Muslim man rushed the forum with a knife and severely wounded the 74 year old author! What was amazing was when the news came out it said that authorities had not yet determined a motive behind the attack! Are you serious? The attacker was a Muslim extremist! Why is it that the US media consistently downplays the brutal intolerance of the Muslim world?

Cat Stevens advocated for the death of an author

These brutal incidents not only illustrate the ruthlessness of Islamic values and the Qur’an teachings but also expose the true feelings and dark sides of supposedly rational entertainers. Former pop star and folk singer, Cat Stevens, who converted to Islam under the new name Yusuf Islam, while giving a speaking engagement at Kingston Polytechnic in February of 1989 denounced Salmon Rushdie and called for his execution because that’s what the Qur’an called for if anyone defied Allah. Ayatollah Khomeini of Iran even called for a Fatwa or a decree for assassination with a 3 million dollar reward, the equivalent of a mafia hit contract. Why Rushdie was not better protected with at least a security guard provided by the establishment where he spoke is a valid concern. One spokesperson gave a really lame excuse saying it was just like the unpredictable shooting of John Lennon, therefore it was impossible to provide public protection!

Why was Rushdie not provided reasonable protection?

Sorry, that explanation is really lame. It’s well known there is an international reward to kill Salmon Rushdie! John Lennon had issues with the US State Department over his fighting a deportation order. Big difference! Oh, by the way, Barack Obama ordered a pardon for John Lennon’s murderer who recently attempted a live performance in New York City that went unattended. Mark David Chapman was released into his parent’s custody over his mental condition! We all can recall the constant apologist for Islam President Obama was in the wake of a mass of Muslim fatal terrorist attacks all over the US during his pathetic administration. Releasing a man who put 5 thirty eight caliber slugs into John Lennon’s heart, Barack Obama should be prosecuted for such intentional disregard for a life much less for the disrespect for a much beloved musician and former member of the Beatles.

Cowardice defined!

The Muslim influence in the Parliament of the UK was even exposed as the government actually considered whether or not to prosecute Salmon Rushdie for insulting the Islamic Qur’an! Well, I guess they finally got their pound of flesh. Salmon Rushdie is blinded in one eye, lost the use of one hand being that a nerve in his arm was severed. Has maybe 15 chest wounds as well. I’m wondering how long it took the audience or anyone one else to lend a hand during the attack!  Cowardice can be measured in several ways. The refusal to identify truth. The refusal to identify the culprit. Pardoning a killer. And making excuses to minimize the brutality of a blood thirsty cult parading as a religion. And as well, the refusal of the US media and law enforcement officials to call out a ruthless and intolerant ideology who has many followers in the US! The fate of Salmon Rushdie displays just how far censorship will go!
