Increasing minimum wage still does not benefit workers, if he/she still working part time.
Another is that we will re-enegotiate with the feds the payroll tax known as employment or unemployment insurance so that business and labour are not burdened with the excessive insurance [ taxation].
Last time I checked there was $45billion in the fund.....mostly paper numbers as the government squanders our insurance on the many boondoggles we see over the years and if it was kept here, there would be a cushion given to business and labor in the lean times.
The NDP is advocating raising payroll costs again by "minimum wage"
"We will encourage businesses to replace their part-time policies with superior work sharing methods".
How? by giving employees steady work rather high minimum wage, the business owner could then control his business costs
much better.....and......our HICBC plan also would reduce medical costs, so that small business could begin to offer this perk to attract good, steady and efficient employees without breaking the owners business, which also includes the payroll tax of 'worksafe' which will be placed under an improved compensation plan.
