Every patriot across this great nation of ours was saddened to learn of the death of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, a stalwart conservative who defended the Constitution and our liberties well during his lifetime.
Just before his untimely passing, in a dissent from the Obergefell v. Hodges case declaring homosexual marriage a right, Scalia penned an important warning every American needs to read.
From CNS News:
Here is an excerpt of a key passage from Scalia’s decision:
I write separately to call attention to this Court’s threat to American democracy.
“The substance of today’s decree is not of immense personal importance to me. The law can recognize as marriage whatever sexual attachments and living arrangements it wishes, and can accord them favorable civil consequences, from tax treatment to rights of inheritance.
Those civil consequences—and the public approval that conferring the name of marriage evidences—can perhaps have adverse social effects, but no more adverse than the effects of many other controversial laws. So it is not of special importance to me what the law says about marriage. It is of overwhelming importance, however, who it is that rules me. Today’s decree says that my Ruler, and the Ruler of 320 million Americans coast-to-coast, is a majority of the nine lawyers on the Supreme Court. The opinion in these cases is the furthest extension in fact—and the furthest extension one can even imagine—of the Court’s claimed power to create “liberties” that the Constitution and its Amendments neglect to mention. This practice of constitutional revision by an unelected committee of nine, always accompanied (as it is today) by extravagant praise of liberty, robs the People of the most important liberty they asserted in the Declaration of Independence and won in the Revolution of 1776: the freedom to govern themselves.”
I would say Scalia was absolutely right on the money.
SCOTUS has become far too powerful, often times usurping legislative powers from Congress and trampling all over the liberties and freedoms we hold dear without a second thought.
If conservatives don’t gain control in the Court and work toward putting its powers back within constitutional limits, we’re going to see our freedom eroding at an ever quickening pace.
Hopefully, we the people will heed Scalia’s warning before its too late.

Thank you Less Prone.
In that case I agree with DTOM. If the US was not an oligarchy prior to Woodrow Wilson's presidency, then it certainly became one when he was elected because in my estimation he was a plant identical to Obama- it's just that the flood gates of constitution smashing laws had not yet made the scene in 1913 as they have now.
It is as though the English Royal family grooms our presidents and that would not only explain our illegal system of taxation, but also the terror campaign against Trump!
This year has the potential to be the most turbulent one of my life and even though there probably won't be a mass awakening in America, there could arise a great resistance by patriots if Obama takes some kind of drastic parting shot action against freedom.

Exactly Suzie...the useful idiots and puppets constantly bandy about the term 'democracy'.
I once had a 'discussion' at a family wedding with an supposed educated idiot who repeatedly stated that the United States was a 'democracy', the words 'constitutional republic' seemed lost on him...
Then it could be argued that the US has been an 'oligarchy' for well over 100 years now, masquerading as a democracy.
At the Constitutional Convention of 1787, a Mrs. Powel of Philadelphia asked Benjamin Franklin, "Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?" With no hesitation whatsoever, Franklin responded, "A republic, if you can keep it."
The exchange was recorded for posterity by Constitution signer James McHenry in an entry in his diary, which was later reproduced in the 1906 American Historical Review.
Interesting that the quote has been manipulated in recent times to be misquoted as "A democracy, if you can keep it." - http://www.thenewamerican.com/usnews/constitution/item/7631-a-repub...
