Today Chairman Boehner finally gave in to demands.
House Republicans moved on two fronts Friday to dig for answers on Benghazi, with Speaker John Boehner announcing a special committee to investigate and a key panel subpoenaing Secretary of State John Kerry to testify.
In a significant shift, Boehner announced that the House will vote on establishing a select committee to investigate, on the heels of newly released emails that raised additional questions about the White House's response.
Top Republicans claimed those emails should have been released to Congress months ago, and Boehner signaled those concerns prompted him to rethink the need for a select committee.

Double Whammy: GOP Demands IRS Special Counsel:
there is now a concerted push from top GOP officials for the appointment of a special counsel on the IRS scandal. Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) introduced the IRS scandal special counsel resolution on Friday. Jordan’s resolution calls on Attorney General Eric Holder to appoint an independent counsel to investigate the IRS scandal, rather than the current Department of Justice attorney investigating. The current DOJ investigator donated thousands of dollars to President Obama’s re-election campaign and to the Democratic National Committee. In a statement announcing his resolution’s introduction, Jordan said: We need this Special Counsel to help us get to the truth because the so-called investigation by the Justice Department has been a joke. The current investigation has no credibility because it is being headed by a maxed-out donor who is financially invested in the President’s success. The Attorney General says he won’t share any information with Congress about the investigation, but looked the other way when information was leaked to the media signaling that no one would face criminal charges. This resolution calls for a real investigation by an unbiased investigator to get to the truth and hold those responsible for this illegal targeting accountable for their actions. Jordan has several high-profile cosponsors out the gate, including three key chairmen: House Oversight Committee chairman Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA), Judiciary Committee chairman Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-VA), and Ways and Means Committee chairman Rep. Dave Camp (R-MI). The other three original cosponsors—Reps. Trey Gowdy (R-SC), Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) and Charles Boustany (R-LA)—are also key players in House oversight efforts. Issa made the case: Congressional investigations into the IRS targeting scandal have uncovered evidence of serious criminal activity, which must be resolved aording to the law. Unfortunately, the Department of Justice’s current investigation has lost credibility

Back when it happened, pretty early on, I read that one of the seal-turned-CIA killed was working with a small group of Al Qaeda SELLING arms/weapons, and thats why Blue Mountain was used for security- he had worked with them previously and knew they wouldn't blow the sub-operation of gun running. Gaddafi was already dead and the oil was flowing again- what were we still doing there? Anyway, that guy didn't stay true to that small group, or vice versa and some of that small group showed up, but it was common to see them around, especially at night, and no one really thought anything was up till bullets started flying. Then, it was a WTF story do we tell now situation. They needed time to get their story straight and make things look like a garden variety black op site under State Dept cover.
I have a bad feeling there are some diverging interests in driving this investigation. There are people on the left and right who think this is about party politics and 2016. (Hopeless) There are people on the right who don't know enough history to know CIA ops go bad all the time, and think Benghazi attack was an attack on the US. (I don't know what to say to those people.) There are people on the left who know CIA ops go bad all the time and don't care. (I don't know what to say to those people either.) There are people who know, as much as they can know, what is going on and want it stopped because it is wrong. They want it to stop. Some of them are in Congress. They may even align with the more pro-war GOP, but are outside of the shadow. Finally, there are people who want it to continue. Among them are those who will work to keep the truth hidden, and those who believe the American people and the world are now in a position to accept this new horizontal power scheme and do not fear it being exposed. With a straight face they tell the people arming rebels in one country and fighting those same rebels in another country is in US and allied interests. The shadow is not a govt in one country, and they have no allegiance. The last two are trying to get on the same page, although it does seem that secrecy and pretense is largely no longer necessary. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/post-politics/wp/2014/04/24/joh... (I'd like to have been a fly on the wall at that get together. )
I'm thinking when the truth-for-truths-sakers can do nothing but go head-long with the shadow, everything we know will change. I don't know if it will be the Benghazi investigation proper, or the realization of intentions being made clearer through it and weighing on other military, economic, etc., matters. If this could happen in a vacuum.... the last thing we need is a common enemy to bond us and interfere with our country tending to its own house.
I think Alex Jones is sometimes unwittingly used to distribute disinfo, but he does deliver truths. This and other things along the same lines are true, and have been coming out for a long time. Decades. But its grown and become the essence of our relationship in the world.
CIA Whistleblower faces the ire of an angry Justice Department over Benghazi questions
Longtime former CIA field operative turned whistleblower Robert “Tosh” Plumlee is currently in the crosshairs of a very angry Holder Justice Department for publicly posting 11 “questions” about Benghazi and the illegal weapons running operations being conducted by criminal elements within the U.S. government. Mr. Plumlee is no ordinary CIA whistleblower, however.
Secretary of State John Kerry will be required to testify regarding Hillary Clinton's State Department performance. This should be interesting.
