Item 1: Capitalism & Banking -- Like the Space Shuttle Challenger Disaster -- Faulty O-Rings ??

Recently, increasing information has become available about identifying serious dysfunctions in our contemporary systems of Capitalism and Banking that will likely produce disastrous consequences for the American People unless they are effectively addressed.

These insights are being discussed by some of our best "outside the box" economic and political thinkers -- several examples of which will be posted during the next few weeks.

This material compels us to re-think some of the traditional "Sacred Cow" concepts about our systems of Capitalism and Banking.

As with faulty O-rings on Space Shuttle Challenger, these defects do not necessarily mean that the overall systems should be scrapped, but that substantial corrective actions may be necessary.

Such realizations, however, are in sharp contrast to many well-known "conventional wisdom" commentators (as well as major political candidates), who insist that "the invisible hand of the market" will invariably fix every deficiency of the systems in question if we just leave them completely alone.

People who are rigidly locked into such thinking are probably not going to like many of the alternative perspectives -- and/or proposed remedies that are recommended by the innovative commentators referenced above.

Those who cling to orthodox views are welcome to delete any of the posts to follow that offend them, or to unsubscribe. Such folks will probably find it far more comfortable to spend their time listening to the numerous radio talk-show commentators whose diatribes daily saturate our nation's airwaves.

I will try not to overload you with too many of the "new-approach" commentaries at any one time -- and will usually accompany them with additional information about topics of a more familiar nature that have been discussed in previous posts.

Some of the new material will undoubtedly be controversial -- encouraging us to assess the pros and cons, and to differentiate between the types of changes and innovations that could produce positive outcomes, as contrasted with those likely to be counterproductive.
